Bio

Saundra Pelletier has served as Chief Executive Officer, President and Executive Director of Evofem Biosciences since February 2015. Ms. Pelletier has been responsible for the company’s growth and evolution, and she led Evofem’s transition to the public market in January 2018 (NASDAQ: EVFM).

Ms. Pelletier has assembled an impressive team of seasoned pharmaceutical professionals that have a deep understanding of the women’s healthcare market and what women want, and she attracted new investor capital. She has also led multiple equity financing rounds which have raised over $440 million.

In her more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Ms. Pelletier has launched pharmaceutical brands worldwide and expanded indications on female healthcare brands in multiple countries. Her experience includes a comprehensive range of women’s healthcare products, cardiovascular, pain management, sleep therapies and medical devices. She has had oversight and accountability for Sales, Marketing, Operations, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Business Development and Strategic Partnerships.

Previously, Ms. Pelletier served as Vice President, Pharmaceuticals at Women First Healthcare, where she raised $40 million in capital. Earlier in her career, Ms. Pelletier served as Corporate Vice President and Global Franchise Leader for G.D. Searle, where she managed a $250 million business unit, managed worldwide partnerships, negotiated cost saving licensing agreements, assessed country infrastructures, developed commercialization plans and hired full scale teams, including contract sales forces.

In March 2020, she joined the Board of Directors for TRACON Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of novel targeted therapeutics for cancer. She serves as the chair of the Governance/Nomination Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee. She is also a published author, coveted keynote speaker and moderator at key healthcare and political conferences worldwide.

She has appeared at the Harvard School of Public Health, the Davos World Economic Forum, the Clinton Global Initiative, the MAKERS Conference, Women Deliver, the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, the University of Oregon’s Lundquist School of Business and the University of California, San Diego.

She is a trained Climate Reality Advocate and hosted a roundtable session at the International Conference on Climate Change, held in Reykjavik, Iceland. Ms. Pelletier has been profiled by The New York Times, Inc. Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Bustle, CNN, Glamour, Marie Claire, and Vogue. She was named as a New Champion for Reproductive Health by the United Nations Foundation, awarded the Athena San Diego’s Pinnacle Award for Life Sciences, named 2019 Business Woman of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal, and named to Inc. Magazine’s 2020 Female Founders 100 List.

Bio

Mr. File has served as Evofem Biosciences' Chief Financial Officer since April 2015. Mr. File has approximately 25 years of diverse accounting and finance experience within a variety of both public and private biotechnology and biopharmaceutical companies.
Most recently, Mr. File provided executive financial and accounting oversight services to various biotechnology companies in San Diego, California, assisting in their initial public offering process and helping to establish and improve their accounting and finance operations as publicly-traded entities. Prior to this, Mr. File was Senior Director and Controller of Sequenom, Inc., a diagnostic company that developed and commercialized molecular diagnostics testing services for the women's health market. During that time, Mr. File served as Treasurer of their diagnostic subsidiary and provided assistance in the raising of over $400 million in combined equity and convertible note offerings. Mr. File also assisted in the commercialization of four diagnostic tests in a two-year period, which included Sequenom's revolutionary noninvasive prenatal test for Down syndrome. Earlier in his career Mr. File worked for approximately ten years in public accounting, primarily with Arthur Andersen LLP, where he worked with a variety of clients assisting with attestation and periodic reporting requirements, public offerings and acquisitions.
Mr. File graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).

Mr. Barrans has served as Evofem Biosciences' Chief Commercial Officer since August 2016. Mr. Barrans has over 25 years in the women's healthcare pharmaceuticals and biotechnology space. As the Chief Commercial Officer, he is responsible for the commercial launch and lifecycle management of the Evofem Biosciences product portfolio, oversees manufacturing and supply chain, and provides executive leadership to the sales and marketing team.

Prior to joining Evofem Biosciences, Mr. Barrans was the Senior Director of Women's Healthcare Marketing for Teva Pharmaceuticals from 2012 to June 2015. With significant tenure in life sciences and pharmaceutical companies, Mr. Barrans has held senior level positions at global and domestic companies including Bayer Healthcare and Wyeth Pfizer (formerly Wyeth), as well as, being Chief Executive Officer of FusionRx, a strategic consulting firm servicing biotech and pharmaceutical brands of which Mr. Barrans was the founding partner. Mr. Barrans has overseen directed the launch of over half a dozen brands worldwide including the launch of Mirena, and Plan B One-Step OTC.

Mr. Barrans graduated from California Coast University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and holds an MBA from California Coast University. Mr. Barrans is an Accredited
Pharmaceutical Manufactures Representative of Canada in General Healthcare and Oncology, and has earned his certification as a Business Coach from Brian Tracy International.

Dr. Culwell is an Obstetrician/Gynecologist with over 16 years specializing in women’s health and contraceptive research. She has served as Evofem Biosciences' Chief Medical Officer since April 2015. Prior to joining Evofem Biosciences Dr. Culwell was the Medical Director of Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest and maintained an academic clinical practice as the Director of Family Planning and Associate Clinical Professor at University of California, Davis. Dr. Culwell previously served as a Medical Officer with the World Health Organization where she developed global guidelines for clinical practice and is widely published in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Culwell received a Bachelor of Science from California Lutheran University, a Medical Doctorate from the University of California, Davis and a Masters of Public Health from Northwestern University. Dr. Culwell completed her post-graduate training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of California San Diego and her Family Planning Fellowship at Northwestern University. Dr. Culwell maintains appointments as Volunteer Assistant Clinical Professor in the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Davis and San Diego campuses. Dr. Culwell is qualified as a Diplomat from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. As of January 2019, Dr. Culwell is a Director of WCG Cares, a 501c3 working in sexual and reproductive health globally.

Mr. Fitzpatrick has served as the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Evofem Biosciences since October 2017. Mr. Fitzpatrick is responsible for our corporate governance, legal, corporate development, intellectual property and risk management functions.
Prior to joining Evofem, Mr. Fitzpatrick served as Chief Legal Officer of Kyriba Corporation from 2014 to 2015 and Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Compliance Officer and Secretary of Verenium Corporation, a publicly traded biotechnology company from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, from 2004 through 2010, Mr. Fitzpatrick served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Kintera, Inc., a publicly traded technology company. Following the sale of Kintera, Mr. Fitzpatrick continued to serve in a similar position for a major division of Blackbaud, Inc. Prior to that, as a memberof the business, corporate and technology departments with the law firms Cooley LLP and Latham & Watkins LLP in San Diego, and Rogers & Wells LLP (now Clifford Chance) in London, Mr. Fitzpatrick represented pharmaceutical and other technology companies, investment banks and venture capitalists in a variety of transactions including numerous collaborations, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property matters, licensing and financing activity.
Mr. Fitzpatrick received a B.S. in mathematics from Georgetown University and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.

Bio

Brandi Howard is the Head of Medical Affairs and joined Evofem Biosciences in January, 2016. Dr. Howard has been in the pharmaceutical industry for over 15 years. Prior to joining Evofem, she spent eight years in various roles at Teva Pharmaceuticals in Women’s Health Medical Affairs, including being the U.S. Medical Director. During that time, she was involved in all clinical trials related to their Women’s Health products including the most recently approved oral contraceptive pill, Quartette. She has extensive knowledge about contraception clinical trials and was part of the teams that conducted research for the approval of Seasonique, Lo-Seasonique, Quartette and Plan B-One Step. In addition, most recently at Teva, Dr. Howard was Head of U.S. Field Medical Affairs and oversaw over 100 field-based Medical Affairs professionals across 8 therapeutic areas. Her Ph.D. research at the University of Pennsylvania focused on adolescent sexual behaviors and contraceptive use.

Bio

Ms.Thomas is the Chief of Staff of Evofem Bisociences. Ellen has over 25 years of professional experience in board management and corporate governance, healthcare communications, global operations, marketing, thought leader engagement, global meeting/conference event management, pharmaceutical sales, continuing medical education and management consulting. She spent six years in pharmaceutical sales with Eli Lilly & Company, and 10 years in private sector pharmaceutical consulting where she provided strategic oversight in the design and implementation of communications, marketing, scientific, and educational programs for multiple therapeutic teams at Pfizer, Eisai, Amgen, Roche, Organon, Pharmacia, Talecris, Quintiles, and Covance. She has therapeutic experience in women’s reproductive health, CNS, anti-infectives, gastroenterology, anti-fungals, cardiology, smoking cessation, endocrinology, ophthalmology, oncology, and nephrology. She spent two and a half years working in a rural health clinic as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Niger, West Africa and has consulted with International Planned Parenthood Federation. Ms. Thomas Sullivan holds a BS degree from Michigan Technological University and an MPH from Columbia University in New York.

Bio

Amy Raskopf joined Evofem Biosciences in February 2018, bringing nearly 20 years of experience planning and executing effective investor relations and corporate communications programs, predominantly for companies in the healthcare sector and with particular emphasis in women’s health. Raised in a household of scientists, she is committed to applying her talents to benefit companies like Evofem whose products have the potential to significantly improve patients’ lives.

Prior to joining Evofem, Amy was Director of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations for women’s health therapeutics company Juniper Pharmaceuticals (f/k/a Columbia Laboratories). During her 14-year tenure, Amy was the company's key communications point person with corporate partners, the NIH/NICHD and research institutions, and its spokesperson of record with media (national and regional). She developed and executed communications strategy and messaging for internal and external audiences for events and catalysts including major partnerships and acquisitions, reporting of pivotal Phase 3 data, corporate rebranding, and crisis communications, and built and maintained long-term, productive relationships with sell-side analysts and institutional investors.

Earlier in her career, Amy held a senior role at In-Site Communications, a healthcare-focused investor relations firm where she focused on specialty pharmaceutical, biotechnology and drug delivery companies. She began her career at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide. She holds an M.F.A. from Southern Methodist University and a B.A. from Smith College.

Bio

Richard Murawski is the Vice President of Operations for Evofem Biosciences. At the executive level, he has significant experience in all functions of Operations, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Process Development, Technology Transfer, Quality, Supply Chain, IT, Facilities and Environmental Health and Safety. He has been involved in successfully bringing multiple products from R&D to commercialization. He has extensive successful Regulatory experience including multiple NDA, ELA, PLA, and BLA filings and over 35 successful FDA, CAFDB, EU, Swiss, Canadian and Japanese PAI and compliance inspections. Mr. Murawski has worked on both sides of Contract Manufacturing, including the creation and direction of two Contract Manufacturing Organizations. He has directed the successful design, construction, start up, validation and operation of 19 United States and international biopharmaceutical manufacturing plants. He has significant executive leadership in large scale biopharmaceutical operations (Schering, Wellcome, Baxter Healthcare) as well as small scale biotech companies (Favrille, Vital Therapies). Mr. Murawski also has extensive experience working in North and South America, Europe and Asia. He has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Newark College of Engineering, now know as the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).

Rachael Hildebrandt is the Director of Human Resources for Evofem Biosciences. She has over 18 years of experience as a senior human resources management professional. Her broad experience includes managing recruitment and selection, benefits, policy design and development, performance management, employee relations and payroll. Prior to joining Evofem Biosciences, she was the head of Human Resources for an REO Asset Management company for over six years and prior to that, she was the Human Resources Manager for a Trademark Licensing firm. Rachael has her Master of Arts degree in Human Resources Management from National University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota. She is a Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).

Mark Kowieski has served as our Controller since May 2015. He has approximately 18 years of diverse accounting and finance experience within a variety of both public and private biotechnology companies. Prior to this, Mr. Kowieski was Director of Accounting Operations at Vital Therapies, Inc, where he helped the company transition from privately held to publicly traded in April 2014. In addition, he was an adjunct faculty member at the University of San Diego where he taught in the School of Business. He started his career with Arthur Andersen LLP, where he worked with clients assisting with attestation and periodic reporting requirements, public offerings and acquisitions. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelors and Masters in Accounting, and is an active Certified Public Accountant in the State of California.

Bio

Catherine Maher, PhD, joined Evofem Biosciences as Vice President, Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance in early 2019. Catherine earned her PhD in 2000 from Wake Forest University Bowman Gray School of Medicine and has been developing drugs since then. Most of Catherine’s experience has been in regulatory strategy at small companies focused on populations with significant unmet medical needs. Prior to joining Evofem, Catherine led the NDA submission, defense, advisory committee, and approval of cannabidiol for patients with Dravet Syndrome or Lennox Gastaut syndrome. Catherine believes there is a significant unmet need for non-hormonal, woman controlled contraceptive options.

Stewart Brown joined Evofem Biosciences as Vice President & Deputy General Counsel in August of 2019. He is a registered patent attorney with deep experience in the life sciences, having served as outside counsel (while an associate and partner at DLA Piper) to pharmaceutical and medical device companies and most recently as Vice President, Legal Affairs for Suneva Medical, Inc., a privately-held, fully-integrated medical aesthetics company. He received a B.A. from Vanderbilt University and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.

Katherine joins Evofem with over 15 years of experience in the clinical and commercial biopharmaceutical industry and 10 years in senior leadership roles. Katherine has extensive leadership experience in building and directing successful multi-departmental Teams in different disciplines including; quality engineering, validation, process characterization and optimization, aseptic processing. She designed, commissioned, validated and started-up multiple GMP manufacturing facilities leading to successful regulatory approvals (US, Canada and EU).
Most recently, Katherine was the Head of Technical Operations at Vital Therapies, a San Diego based biotech company. She was responsible for Engineering, Validation, Facilities and Process Development. She upgraded the San Diego Manufacturing facility to improve compliance in preparation for FDA PAI inspection, designed a new commercial GMP manufacturing facility including site selection in the US and EU, created a Process Development team to focus on process characterization efforts, and managed CMC activities for BLA filing. Katherine earned her degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sherbrooke, Canada and a Six Sigma Black Belt certification from the American Society of Quality.

Bio

Drew Sigafoos has over twenty years of experience in the procurement of services, primarily focused on the commercialization of pharmaceuticals and biologics. He has held senior procurement roles in Wallace Pharmaceuticals, TEVA Pharmaceuticals and most recently, Otsuka Pharmaceuticals, overseeing the commercial spend for Abilify and managed multiple product launches including innovations in digital medicine. While at TEVA, he was the Strategic Sourcing Lead for a team which implemented IVR and a Digital Interactive Avatar for patient call center interaction, the first of its kind in the pharmaceutical industry. He was also the Procurement Lead for TEVA’s women’s health, neurology and respiratory divisions, overseeing agency relations for several launches and product lifecycles.

Drew has also consulted for, and held procurement roles in Fortune 500 companies such as Goodyear, Avaya and Kimberly Clark. Prior to joining Evofem Biosciences, Drew was a member of the senior leadership team of a Mid-Atlantic regional distributor of HVAC and plumbing supplies where he built the strategic planning model for the company and managed the company’s marketing department and eight regional retail decorative showrooms.

Drew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Rider University with a focus in Organizational Management. In addition, he has served on a variety of panels for the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) and serves as a panelist for a leading vendor analysis company.
